'The smell of pipe smoke'
This average looking day to day store sits in Hereford's busy High Town and to the passing shopper this building looks nothing more than an ordinary retail shop selling mobile phones but how wrong could they be as this popular store as a number of chilling ghost stories that could give anybody the creeps. The age of the building is unknown but as most stores in High Town the shop could date to around late 16th century at the least. The shop as had many previous uses in its past, in 1851 Thomas Birch had a China, glass and earthenware shop at this building and in 1871 a Ironmonger's was under this address.
The building later became Boots chemists in 1909 and as since there as been a variety of different stores at the premises. The staff who work at the shop and previous staff who have once worked there have strongly told of their experiences of the unknown that have happened at the store. Staff have been in the staffroom when random cups would drastically come off the work top and then be smashed on the floor, this has happened many times at the shop, this frightening occurrence also happens on the shop's main floor when items on the shelf come off and fall on the floor for no reason. The most bizarre supernatural happening is when puddles of water mysteriously appears on the shop's floor in different places, there is no explanation for this.
The smell of old cigar smoke is smelt many times in the shop, this odd smell as been smelt by many people, even the shop's customers have mentioned this. This city shop's ghostly occurrences are much unknown in the city and for many years these strange experiences have took place behind the doors of the old city shop and the ghost of the shop continues to bring attention to himself, everyday.
