'A attention seeking spirit'

Unbeknown to locals this One Stop shop as ghostly encounters on a frequent basis and as been at the centre of all kinds of frightening and disturbing activity. Sitting on Hereford's Belmont road this shop is just an ordinary local newsagent to any customer that needs a pint of milk or the daily paper, but there are wandering ghosts behind its doors that on a day to day basis frighten the shop's staff. Many staff in the shop have heard the papers rustling when there as been no customers in the shop, some have felt cold breezes for no apparent reason, and other staff have heard spooky breathing noises in their ears, the sound of an old telephone ringing out the back is also another ghostly happening.

All of these incidents seem harmless but that hasn't always been the case, shockinly a member of staff was once pushed violently in the back and on one occasion a piece of metal was thrown into the store room aiming at a member of staff, fortunately it missed but this could have caused a nasty injury. One incident which frightened the shop assistant was when she was working behind the till; she was tapped on the shoulder by unseen hands, nobody was there . The staff of the shop say that there has always been a ghost in the building, however things got out of hand and took a turn for the worst when builders were constructing the new Asda store which is located to the side of the shop which can suggest they unknowingly disturbed something. The shop's history is rather unknown, it was previously called Quinsey's and it was known to have also been a shop in the 1940's, under the 1914 directory joining cottages came up under the address of the shop which indicates that perhaps before this building was built, cottages occupied the site.
