'Noises from above'

This nightclub and day bar is situated at the end of an alley on St. Peter's Street, it is so tucked away that it really is forgotten about in the daytime, however at nighttime the club is a well known cozy nightclub, the haunted club as quite a few ghost stories to tell, the building from the outside doesn’t look old and it certainly doesn’t have a creepy look, so many people are oblivious to the fact that it is actually haunted, the inside of the pub as been modernised and as an up to date look so not many of its clubbers would have the impression or perhaps believe that it is haunted!

The building itself was originally an inn named The Elephant and Castle which dated back as far as 1770 if not earlier, in 1886 the front part of the building became a popular local shop but The Elephant and Castle still carried on its service as a pub, the pub put an east access down a narrow passage so customers could still get to the bar, because of this instant change the inn was then entered into a street directory as number 10 and a half St. Peter's Street. The Inn was closed down unfortunately by the licensing committee in the early 1900's but in 1955 the building was then used as the head quarters for the British Legion.

The bar's ghostly guests are unknown as no stories have ever been told in the past of who the ghosts may be. The ghosts grab the staff’s attention by making loud footstep noises and bangs upstairs and on one occasion after the pub had closed a member of staff who was on her own clearing up after the night in the downstairs bar saw what she could only describe as a dark figure walk past the bar area, after she looked the apparition had disappeared and as never been sighted again the bar, glasses and other bar objects have also come off the shelves on their own, cold breezes are often felt in certain areas of the club and staff often feel as if they are being watched by ghostly eyes. The club’s ghostly events are unknown to many in Hereford but whilst being in this club try not to forget that there could well be someone else that you can’t see on that dance floor with you!
