Hereford is a wonderful City to live in, I am proud to say that I am a Herefordian. The City is a haunted hot spot. There is so much history here too and where there is history there is ghosts. The haunted hot spots on the ghost walk are the City centre's most haunted places.
So whether you are a local or a tourist, if you want to take a walk around Hereford's most haunted places then you can simply print off this page and walk the route.I decided to do this D.I.Y ghost walk because Hereford's ghost walk only runs for a few months of the year, please do enjoy this walk!
Directions
1. The The Old House Museum in the centre of High Town is a distinctive black and white timbered building which is now a museum.
2. Once at The Old House you will see Game on the right hand side, the old Past Times shop which is also haunted is one shop down from Game. Go to this point.
3. Once there, opposite you will see WH Smith, go to this side and walk a bit further down (away from The Old House) keep walking down this side of town and you will soon see New Look. To your right hand side, above this shop is the haunted The Old Chemist and opposite New Look is the haunted Boots store.
4.Now you need to turn back the way you just came and keep walking before you get to WH Smith's, before this shop is an alleyway on the right, walk up this alleyway.
5. Whilst walking up the alleyway you will see The Grapes Tavern. This is also said to be haunted. Cross the road carefully and from here on the left hand side you will notice The Lichfield Vaults , pass this pub, keep following the path and near the end of this path on the right you will see a big red brick building with large brown gates, this is the Cathedral School .
6. Whilst standing here you will see the Cathedral and its grounds in front of you. Walk down the path straight ahead and take the path turning to the right. At the end of this path you will see Tourist Information; next to this is the Spread Eagle . Don't deviate from this path because you need to go down the small narrow road on your left hand side, this is Gwynne Street .
7. Follow this road to the end. At the end of the road you will see in front of you Hereford's most haunted building The Black Lion Inn .
